Hey everyone! As promised, I have many many updates planned for the next few weeks. Corey has come and gone, sadly, but while she was here we did some amazing touristy and not-so-touristy things. Here’s a look at our intenerary, to give you an idea of what is coming up:
Wednesday:
- Corey arrives! Bright and early at 10 a.m.
- Brunch at Lemon
- Christ Church Cathedral
- St Patrick’s Cathedral
- Quick walk through Trinity
- Dinner, more planning, and much viewing of The Road to El Dorado
Thursday:
- Trudge through rain to Avoca for breakfast
- National Museum of Archaeology
- Our Lady of Mount Carmel
- Powerscourt Centre and possibly other shopping
- Chapters
- Ginger Man!
Friday:
- Corey heads to Dublin Castle in the rain while I try to track down my essays
- Trinity College Secondhand Book Sale!
Saturday:
- HOWTH! Which featured castles, churches, flowers, and fish in a box. Awesome.
- St. Stephen’s Green and Merrion Square
Corey, let me know if I am forgetting anything!
In other news, I must share this picture with you all in the interest of updating you on my life and solving an earlier riddle:
Remember the sea salt and painkillers?
That’s not even worth its own post, really. Suffice to say that yes, that is my ear, that’s a real bar in it,the place was clean and professional, I wasn’t drunk, etc. It only took ten minutes, it’s a week old today, and there was no crunching or popping like some people say they have when they get this piercing. It DID hurt like a…well, you know…but it feels much better now and I’m really happy with it! Shout out to Body Shock in Temple Bar

Ahh, the tragus piercing. I had mine done about 10 years ago. People always ask “did it hurt”? Hell yeah it did! Mine is a little loop instead of a bar like yours. Maybe I’ll have to look into getting a bar.

Holy socks! I’m so glad you did this! I was trying to make a similar list at the airport and was much disappointed with my memory! I think you got mostly everything, except Hodges Figgis (first day?), your stellar cooking (throughout) and our movie/”The Office” night (Friday?). I feel like we did so much during this trip and I can’t even remember half of it!

Um. That sounds like a lot of fun. Why was it that when I was going to come visit you were like: bookstore, Topshop, go to castles alone. The End. FAIL.

Because Kimmykins when you were going I think KT still had classes.
Sounds like you girls had a great time! Love all the pictures. When do we see something in Corey’s blog about the trip?
Forgot all about the ear ~ all healed?

So I have a feeling it is going to be time to write about the Trinity Ball before you ever get around to writing about your adventures with Corey and then before you know it you will be heading over the ocean ~ better get writing

Um, no recent update? I just thought I’d let you know I miss that movie even though I’ve only seen it twice. But I saw it twice in two nights. That’s how great it was.

Umm, Road to El Dorado is the best movie EVER and I cannot understand why people refuse to believe me on this!
Possibly the idea of two cartoon Spaniards, one with a British accent and one with an American accent, searching for the lost city of El Dorado while trying to hide the fact that in the original script, they were gay, does not exactly sell it.

Also, Shelly&Tommy, I love my piercing! I heard it heals better with a bar, which is why I got that, but I am going to switch it with a tiny little labret or a helix (I think that’s what they’re called?) as soon as it heals. It hasn’t been as much of a pain as I expected, though — it’s three weeks old today, and it only hurts if I catch it on something (like my hairbrush…ouch).
